Still have 14 years....

I cried today while watching Glee on TV. The episode where the seniors are graduating high school, and the scene where the father tells his son how much he will miss him when he moves out. I asked Felix who he thinks will be a bigger mess when the time comes...me or him? We both kind of agreed it would be him. But I'll probably be the one crying about it until it happens! Our oldest hasn't even started kindergarten yet!!

She is showing signs of a promising future already......
One of her favorite games is playing chicken and laying eggs. And it is only done in this spot, on the window shelf. She is sitting on her toy bowl from her kitchen, laying her eggs.

I'm not sure this one is on his way to a full academic scholarship either........only time will tell!
These two have me laughing (and yelling, and crying) nearly everyday! L-man is definitely giving me a run for my money. He is always doing something, and very persistent about getting what he wants. He is a good boy, sensitive, and completely fearless- unless he sees something furry, or has shmutz on him! I turned on the blender the other day, and trying to copy his sister who hates the loud noise, he started yelling- and covered his eyes. Still gets confused with eyes & ears. Oh little Levi. At the playground, he must truly believe he can fly- several times has tried to simply walk off the edge of a 5ft high playground structure. And the jumping- lifts his legs and lands flat on his bum, laughs hysterically, and goes for more.

This really deserves a post of its own.We gave up the binky. And we survived! All of us!!!! Surprisingly, she did really well. We decorated an envelope for the binky fairy, using tons of glitter and stamps. Then, she wrote a letter to the binky fairy asking for something to keep her lips from getting dry, and money of course :) We put the envelope in the mailbox, and that was pretty much the end of it. She even seemed excited about it.
Bedtime came, and she was very excited for all the goodies the binky fairy left her. Tons of lip gloss, perfume, chocolate money, and a brand new water bottle with a straw to keep by her bed. It took her a while to fall asleep, but there were no tears and she didn't even mention the binky. She woke up extremely cranky for about a week, and was not her usual sweet self for about a week, but we seem to be doing ok! She asked if the fairy could bring them back once, I told her no, and that was the end of it! She is stalling a bit at bedtime lately, asking for milk or for us to lay with her, and usually crying at the gate upstairs while we hide downstairs in complete darkness pretending we are sleeping. She always went right to sleep with the binky, so this is new- but we are holding strong and I think 'this too shall pass'.! All in all, it went MUCH better than expected!!

Levi woke up from his nap the other day, and just wanted to be held. I held him as I walked into the kitchen to finish up a few things. I had 4 potatoes and 2 large carrots sitting on the counter to make soup- and he just picked up the huge, unwashed raw carrot and started chomping away for an afternoon snack!
The kids have been out of their normal routine the past few weeks, and I have to say- we are having a bit of a "challenging" phase right now. Their current behavior when we are out in public is absolutely horrible, and I am completely frustrated! I think it may partially be because they are feeding off each other. We went inside a dunkin donuts the other day, Emma had a COMPLETE meltdown kicking & screaming on the floor when I told her she couldn't have a big donut, and Levi completely destroyed the coffee bag display, then they both ran around making a mess and being very loud. I felt like I had no control, nothing I said made any kind of an impact, and I couldn't even hold their wriggling hands/arms tight enough to keep them close without hurting them. It was disasterous, we left immediately, and I decided it was time to make a list of consequences she(they) will actually CARE about, since it seems not getting to read books at night doesn't really hold a lot of weight with her!
We went to visit Felix and watch the first water polo game in the new pool. The kids were bouncing off the walls. Literally! Emma ran through the doorway, and jumped up to hang on the bar you push to open the door. I just stood there, shocked. I've never seen them behave this badly in public! It doesn't sound THAT bad....hanging on a door....but just the crazy hyper activity by these two is OUT OF CONTROL!

On another note........
A BIG CONGRATS to Daddy! After 5 years of hard work, dedication, sweat & tears, Felix is finally able to coach his team in a much deserved state of the art new pool!!! With a REAL office!!!!
 with a great view ;)

The facility is GORGEOUS. Absolutely gorgeous! It looks like a country club when you walk in. Totally blew me away. I can't wait to go back and get the full tour. Meanwhile, Felix hosted a tournament in the brand new pool a week after it opened, and it was a major success. I'm so proud of him!!

Levi can't wait to get in the pool! He would walk right in if we let him. Especially a pool with a bunch of bright yellow water polo balls flying all over the place!
