Reading at the library. This has become our Saturday morning routine while Felix is in season. I love that when she runs in, she returns her books in the drop box and makes a mad dash for the kids section in the back to do art projects, play puzzles, and of course, read books. I have learned to reserve my books in advance so they are already pulled off the shelves and neatly waiting for us at checkout. Last time I tried to look for books on the shelf, a random kid picked up Levi off the floor by his head. Twice.
Levi has been a little difficult lately on the changing table. I really do have to hold him down with my left arm across his body, slightly leaning on him as I quickly use my right hand to change his diaper. This often turns into a messy task as he screams, squirms, and cries throughout the entire process.
Emma was playing mommy today with her puppy- although I do not change Levi on our stove, she propped the pup on her Dora kitchen and went at it, giving him the caring hug at the end to stop all the needless crying! This was after she fed the pup dinner, and put him in his baby carrier- shutting off all the lights in the house because he was sleeping. Luckily I was able to convince her to stick him in the bathroom for his quiet snooze and turn the lights back on so the rest of us could see around the house!
Tubby time. Levi is a splashing machine, giggles the entire time as he goes wild in there driving Emma crazy splashing all the water in her eyes. I'm not sure Emma is on the fast path to becoming a super water polo player, being that she hates any sort of water on her face- but Levi, he is definitely in love with the H-2-0.
In the meantime, we seem to have a solution for all the splashing with Emma's new snazzy goggles :)
Oh how I love this snuggle bug in his PJ's. Look who is standing!
I left the kids in the playroom while I ran to my bedroom- and came out to find Levi around the corner from the playroom, STANDING!!
and he even cruised around a bit!!
Emma & I tried out a new mini muffin recipe this afternoon as Levi cruised around the floor picking up scraps (this is when we really miss the dog!). Emma loves to lick the bowl when we are done. I was busy pulling random pieces of the floor out of Levi's mouth when I looked up to see that Emma added a supersized pile of chocolate chips into the empty bowl for her licking enjoyment/dinner :)
So, perhaps we jumped the gun a bit after our one sunny day of 67 degree weather. We pulled out the deck table & chairs, Emma's outdoor toys, and Felix even spent a good hour putting together Shadow, the horse. It was very exciting. Emma kept him company the entire time. Felix really enjoyed her constant questions and her encouraging him to go faster so she could ride the horse!
She was very excited to ride it. So much that we even pulled the little guy inside the back door when it started snowing that night. So much for all of our outdoor fun!!!
Love. Love. Love. It really does make me smile- look at his little grin! He is simply a happy baby, I couldn't ask for anything more!!!
