The day we arrived, we were greeted by the Levine's who happened to be visiting as well.
The next morning, we started potty training. The worst day of my life.
Two hours into it, Emma had peed through 10 pairs of panties. TEN PAIRS. Ridiculous. But luckily I had the helping hands of Felix, Jackie, and my parents. I don't know how I could have done it alone, especially with Levi in my arms. I think I spent the entire day scrubbing the floor or rinsing out her little potty seat.
We started off by simply putting her in panties and bringing her to the potty every hour. I quickly changed it to every 30min, then 20min, and eventually.....we were bringing her every 10 minutes. I nearly lost my mind. She was rewarded with a "surprise", which happened to be a hershey kiss every time. The next day she only had 1 or 2 accidents, and surprisingly by day 3 she was even telling US when she had to go!
So for now, she is using the potty all day, and wearing a diaper during naps and bedtime. Getting her to poop on the potty was extremely frustrating. She was terrified, and turned into a nutcase when she felt she had to go- running around the house like crazy and a mad dash to do anything possible to avoid going to the bathroom. It was nuts, but luckily, only lasted a few days! She is such a big girl now!!!
We were lucky enough to celebrate my grandparents 65th wedding anniversary. 65 years and going strong. They truly are amazing role models for raising a wonderful family and I love all the time we get to spend together when we visit.
We love you Mamare & Grandaddy (Saba). Congratulations!
By this time, Felix was already working a camp in Orlando, and I stayed here for another few days working hard on the potty training before our big road trip up to Orlando to meet up with Felix and visit more friends and family!
