Halloween Celebrations

This year, we were lucky enough to celebrate Halloween several times!
We kicked off the celebrations with a trip to Roger Williams Park Zoo Spooktacular! Luckily we arrived early enough to beat the crowd, and enjoyed the stroll through the trail they set up with amazingly carved pumpkins.
We had to wait in line until it was dark enough to start the tour. Emma & Levi were perfect little angels!

Check out how HUGE that pumpkin is below! I couldn't tell if it was real or not, but it was gigantic. And of course, we had to get a picture of the "Felix the Cat" carving. Camera flashes were not allowed, so we did the best we could!

We even got to go trick-or-treating...TWICE! And thanks to Grandma who shipped up a gigantic box of Halloween costumes and toys just in time...Emma was able to wear two different costumes!
This is the actual night of Halloween. Little Levi was dressed as a chicken, and Emma is a cutie patootie giraffe! Felix was in NJ at a tournament and couldn't join us, but we really missed him! Especially because Emma was frozen with fear (several times) whenever she would see the wolf from our friends dressed as the characters in Little Red Riding Hood.(see plaid shirt below).

"woohooo!!! look what I got mom"

And here we are, the day before Halloween, heading out to our very first "trunk-or-treat" that our friends invited us to. It was so much fun! All the cars were in a circle in the parking lot, trunks decorated, and the kids walked around collecting candy. Then there were activities for the kids...but Emma was a little too young. And Levi was sleeping. As usual.
Strike a pose kiddow!

At first, Emma didn't realize that the "treats" she was getting were actually edible. I'd like to thank her little friends for teaching her that everything in her bucket was candy :)

How cute is this Little Bo Peep costume?!! My friend made it for her daughter. Adorable!

And of course, we had to get our pumpkins! We went a few days before Halloween, right after Felix got home off the red-eye from CA. He is such a trooper!

Big pumpkin for Daddy.....and Emma's baby pumpkin. Levi snoozing.

Surprisingly, Emma refused to pull out the seeds from the pumpkin! So Felix did all the dirty work while Emma colored her little pumpkin...and her hand.

and look who was awake to join us!

My talented husband carves whatever Emma asks. Can you tell what it is???

Dora the Explorer, of course!
