Not Nearly As Bad As It Smelled!

Emma was in her crib this afternoon, and should have been napping. I put her in there at 1:30, and as usual I can hear her through the video monitor. She was singing songs, playing with her stuffed animals, and chatting away. By 2:30pm, she was quiet, so I decided to check the monitor to make sure she was sleeping.
Not in the least.

And this, my friends, is why I highly recommend the VIDEO monitor!

So what was it I *thought* I was seeing?
I thought I saw her sitting in the corner of the crib.
I thought I saw her sitting there with no pants on, even though I put her in the crib with them on.
And then, I thought I saw her sticking her hand in her diaper and wiping it on her body.I *thought* there is no way this is really what I am seeing.

It takes A LOT to get me to go in to her room if she is awake before I feel nap time is over (usually, 4pm). So, knowing that if I left her in there for another hour and a half, I could potentially have beautiful pink walls covered in poop, I decided to cut my losses and risk ending nap time early.

I opened her door, gagged, and nearly passed out from the smell.

"Hi mommy! I waked up!"

I smiled at my sleeping beauty, walked out, grabbed the paper towels and disinfectant, and started to scrub down her poop covered crib rail before I decided I should take some pictures, so I can "enjoy the days of diapers" as advised on facebook after my recent post!



And this is how we ended naptime.
