Our friends Kristy & Matt adopted a new puppy on Friday, and we rushed over right away on Saturday to meet the little guy. Emma went right up to him and wanted to play, but he was a bit shy at first and went into a full body shake in his mommy's arms.
Little Dexter warmed up quickly to Emma once she stopped trying to rip his nose off! Can't wait to visit this little guy again!
Yesterday was a long day for us. I got up early to check out a yard sale for some more toys for Emma....but no luck. Then, we went over to meet Dexter, and headed straight over to a birthday party for one of Emma's friends.
We got home just in time for me & Emma to nap, and then... drumroll please.... I actually went out for dinner with 3 other friends of mine, leaving Emma & Felix to fend for themselves at home. And believe it or not, they survived! By the time I got home, both were safely tucked in their own beds. I enjoyed my time out with the girls, but I loved coming home and hearing the play by play from Felix. Sounds like they had a great time together- and even though I missed out on the fun, I'm glad they got to spend quality time with each other.
On Friday, Felix set up the water table for Emma to play with. After breakfast she spent hours outside playing in the water...aka.. "tubby"....and trying to chase Matti with the water cups. She was having a blast, hopping between the water and her new little car.
It was so nice and sunny outside, and quite relaxing as I just sat back in a chair watching her have the time of her life.
....a little confused. She kept wanting to "get in the tubby".
I convinced her to take a break for lunch at her new picnic table. Once she figured out how to sit on it without falling off the sides, we were able to enjoy ourselves a bit more!
Perhaps she has seen Daddy with the fly swatter one too many times.....
I finally got her to come inside to change out of her wet clothes and take a nap. When she woke up, her friends came over, and back outside we went to play in the water table until dinner time. I love that we can play outside now, what a fantastic time of year!
