Girls Weekend!

Mom came up to visit for a few days while Felix was out of town, and we really had a wonderful time. Emma was very excited to "get Bubbe from the airplane" on Thursday afternoon and bring her back home to play.
We had lunch, took naps, and went out for a late dinner that night.

The next day we got up bright & early, and I actually managed to get ALL 3 of us out of the house on time to go teach aerobics! Mom sat on the pool deck with Emma while I taught and Emma stretched and pretended to swim in the air. I think it was the first time mom ever saw me teach......even though it was just water aerobics, it was nice to have her there!

After teaching, we went to check out the stroller I have been dreaming about for our two children to ride in, side by side, protected from the wind and sun in a narrow, lightweight stroller for their tired mommy to push around...... and boy is it a pricey one! Especially because they charge extra if you need the carseat attachment or a snack tray for your needy little ones.....so we are doing some more shopping to see if we can top this one!

After which, we drove around Brown to show mom where Felix works, and ate lunch at my favorite sandwich shop out there that sells gigantic chocolate chip cookies!

We came home just in time to take a nap, and then enjoy the sun outside in the backyard for the first time in weeks!
We went swinging........

.....and picked up a few sticks around the yard (note Emma's new boat sandbox in the back- a friend of ours found that little gem for free on the street and helped us load it into the minivan!!)

I finally got Emma this other beauty from craigslist.... her very own cozy coupe, and she loves it....for a few minutes at a time, but hey, that is why we craigslist most of her toys!

Matti joined us for some afternoon sun as well. He kept getting tangled in the toys.... oh we need to train this little guy not to run away without a leash on if he wants to play with us more often!

That evening I made mom a special home cooked meal of spinach, ricotta, and sundried tomato stuffed chicken with a side of zucchini and roasted dill potatoes, complete with fresh homegrown dill. It was delicious.

The next morning we took advantage of the beautiful weather once again and went down to the park to feed the animals and play in the sandbox.

we smelled the flowers....

went down the slide....

went on the swings....

played in the sandbox...it really felt like we were sitting on the beach, it was SO HOT!

and gave lots of carrots to the hungry animals!

Once again, we left the park, got home just in time for lunch and nap, and then headed right out for some much needed shopping.

Mom SPOILED us big time! We picked up a water table for Emma's birthday gift from Bubbe & Grandaddy, and a potty seat. And then we went to register for a few necessities at Babies R Us for the new baby- after mom bought us TONS of stuff for him! We got him a sweet little receiving blanket in blue, the same one we used to wrap Emma in (in pink). I can't wait to hold him in my arms!

Exhausted from all our shopping, we went to the mall for dinner at Bertucci's, and spoiled my little girl with some late night playtime in the mall playzone.

We had such a wonderful weekend together, it went by way too fast. Emma had a blast coloring and playing all day, singing songs, reading books, and even being rushed to the potty.

Thanks for everything mom, we love you!
