I've been inspired....

I recently came across a random blog I found on the internet, and I've been inspired.

Sometimes I find myself getting caught up in the day to day, the exhaustion, and just "surviving". This feeling has probably been multiplied since dealing with Emma's major mood swings last week while she was sick.

The other night I was sitting on the couch after putting Emma to bed (after a 30 minute tantrum, due to no nap that afternoon) and I thought to myself- this is not how I want my days to feel! I don't want to spend each day watching the clock. These are the few precious years of my life where I get to be home with my child(ren) while they are young, and their mother means everything to them. I want to make sure I make these days as enjoyable for them as I can,
Of course.... that doesn't mean letting her do whatever she wants.......

but I was given a wake up call by Emma when she was playing the other day. I was sitting on the couch checking emails and probably spending way too much time on Facebook when she got up from playing, closed my laptop on my fingers and said "all done" while handing me a book to read to her. Ahhhh, such sweetness.

So for now, I am trying to forget about the never ending "to do" list, playing by my OWN rules that I think are best for my OWN baby, and getting into HER world of imagination and fun, getting messy, singing and dancing around the room, and loving it when she pulls at my hand saying "come, come" to play toys with her.

Although- she doesn't ALWAYS want me to play with her! I walked in on her emptying my make-up bag in my bedroom. Her hand motion is her saying "no. go away." so she could continue to rub lipstick all over her pants.

But this afternoon we got to play play play. She napped through the sunny part of the day, but we still found time to get outside and enjoy ourselves.

"Ow! Boo boo's"- after kissing my chapped lips. Way to build my self-esteem kiddow!

Flying her leaf like the birdies

blurry, but beautiful!

Emma & I had a date night tonight while Felix was on a late flight back home. I took a picture of her on my cell to send to Felix and told her she was such a cutie patootie. She then said "more cutie patootie", signaling me to get out my camera so she could ham it up. And ham it up she did!
