Gainesville. GOOOOO GATORS!

After our 2nd trip to Miami, we came back to West Palm for 1 night and then were off to Gainesville. On our drive up, we made a quick stop in Clermont to visit my friend Roseanne and then Orlando to visit Grandma, Aunt Mileidy and cousins Alexsa & Celeste. We had a lot of fun even though the visits were too short! I can tell I was getting tired by this point in our vacation because I did not pull out the camera at all :(

We eventually made it to Gainesville that evening and enjoyed one of a kind Chili for dinner that Charlie made for us. We really had a great time visiting with Catherine, Charlie & baby Audrey (13mos). While Charlie & Felix worked during the day, Cat & I took the kiddows around town- oh I wish we lived close...we had such a great time!

Emma was playing with Audrey's toys when she realized she can actually stand up on her own if she holds on to something!
It's Great To Be A Florida Gator!
We had to take Ems to the stadium and around campus. We even stopped by my office from grad school.... such fun memories. It was interesting to walk around campus with my baby in tow- college life seemed so simple as we were walking around. But then, I saw a bunch of kids sitting in anatomy/physiology lab..... and I remembered why I was glad to graduate!
Little Emma is thinking about being a Gator!
Like Mothers....like Daughters. Altho- Emma is trying to eat Audrey's hand in this picture. (if you click on the picture you can see how hard Emma was trying to pull!!!)

Audrey wouldn't give it up, so Emma decided to suck on her own fingers instead.
Good friends, just like their parents. On the car ride home- Audrey was reading Emma a book. (I took this pic through the mirror in the car)
And of course, just like her mother- Emma quickly got bored during the story and decided to fall asleep.
After a wonderful two days at the Dunn house, we went to visit the Ferrara's. Phillip & Felix enjoyed grilling out & watching Gladiator while me, Gina & the kids went on a walk, shopping, and enjoyed some much needed girl talk!
Sable, the little ball of energy!! She ran right up to me and gave me a hug when I walked in the door- I have never met a more friendly baby!
....and strong! Just like HER momma!!
We had such a great time in Gainesville- it is always nice to go visit and spend time with friends. I wish I took more pictures!!!!!

FL Vacation Continued.....Back To Miami!

After New Years, we headed back down to Miami to spend a few more days with friends.
We got to watch the Gators play while at the Samson house.... a great game to watch with great company. Of all my years at UF, I have to say this was probably the most entertaining game I have ever watched, and I must thank Gayle, Doc, Luke, and Felix for that (even though Felix & I fell asleep by the 3rd quarter).
We spent an evening with Lauren in The Grove and I won the "bad mama" award for keeping Emma out until 9pm!
We visited with the Cassels, which is always extremely entertaining as Felix eggs ALL of them on.
And believe it or not, we were even able to squeeze in a few more visits with some wonderful friends during our few short days there.

We spent the night with the Schwartz's and had a wonderful breakfast together in the morning. Thank you for Emma's special crackers! Emma is looking forward to her next visit so she can play with everyone again- we had a great time. Felix even broke out a few dance moves in the backyard.

Busy Little Bee

We have been very busy during our wonderful Florida vacation. After spending Christmas in Orlando, we drove down to Miami to watch Felix's water polo camp and visit with some friends. Here, Emma is meeting Lauren for the first time- love at first sight!

Then, we drove back to West Palm to celebrate Roger's birthday, and New Years Eve.
Emma watching Ava sing

Blowing out the candles on Rogers cake. Delicious as always!

New Years Day- everyone was a bit tired from celebrating the night before. Poor Ava couldn't even find a comfortable seat on the couch to watch TV, and decided to sit on her sleeping mommy!

Steph and the kids go to lunch at Costco with Mamare & Saba once a week for hot dogs, so Emma & I were invited to join in on this tradition while we were here visiting. It was so much fun, after lunch Emma fell asleep as we strolled the aisles looking for items to buy and enjoying the free samples!

......my peaceful little snoozer at Costco

We couldn't get enough of Mamare & Saba, so we decided to bring Felix along a few days later and visit their apartment. Emma played the keyboard and had a great time- she was really bouncing to the beat. She kept bouncing her head up and down as she played the music. So cute.

And after her musical performance, Mamare & Saba took us all out to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner. Emma remained the center of attention and loved every minute of it.
Here is Emma learning how to clap hands with Mamare.

We got back home late that night, but the next morning Emma was very excited to sing and dance some more with her table toy. She really seems to like music right now, so we are working on teaching her to clap her hands to the beat.

Yesterday, we had a great day with Aunt Jackie. We met her for lunch and got to see her new apartment and discuss all her great decorating ideas. Then Jackie was trying to teach Emma to crawl- another skill we practice every morning on the carpet when we wake up.

Jackie got very ambitious and thought perhaps Emma would rather walk and skip crawling all together. hmmm..... not quite yet!
Our beautiful girls!

The other day after watching the news and seeing the massive snowstorms in Boston, Felix & I decided to take advantage of the amazing weather here and bring Ems to the park down the street. She really loved the swing (then the camera died) but she also enjoyed going down the slide on my lap, and then watching her mommy & daddy attempt to play some basketball!!!!
Next, we are heading back to Miami for a few more days to visit and then... off to Gainesville!! Felix has agreed to let me take some pix of Emma at UF as long as I dont make her become a Gator Fan.......
