A Mother's Day Weekend

What a wonderful first Mother's Day! Felix kicked off the weekend by surprising me and taking me out to a fancy little Italian dinner on Friday night. He even secretly arranged for our friends to come stay at the house and watch Emma after I put her to bed (thanks Kristy & Matt!!). So off we went to the restaurant and enjoyed our evening together. It was the first time we went out to dinner alone since Emma was 2 weeks old!!!!!!!

This morning we were up bright and early and went out as a family for an early breakfast together. We tried out a local favorite and it was delicious. Although, we felt like the "newbies" in the place after we overheard the waitress talking with all the tables around us as if she has known them for years!

They gave me a pretty little flower on my plate for Mother's Day that Emma couldn't keep her hands off (prior to sticking it in her mouth), so we stuck it in her hair.

And here is Felix's Mother's Day gift to me. He has started the process of power washing the house. Let me tell you- it is like an eraser!!!!! Look at the difference in this picture already- and the wood is wet here, now that it has dried the wood is a nice light tan. I just can't believe the difference.

AMAAAAAAZING!

Is this the stud I married? He finished the entire side of the house this afternoon and is going back for more tomorrow.

After I took these pictures (with Emma in my arms) Matti decided to run off the deck and run free in our yard. I must have been a sight to see running after Matti with Emma on my hip. Luckily, Felix took Emma from me just as Matti decided to high tail it out into the woods behind our house. As I was chasing him into the poison ivy filled wooded path with my white socks and fake red crocs on, I thought to myself that there was a real possibility I could lose him this afternoon. Thank goodness he stopped to go potty on a bush so I could grab him. Gone are the days where I was able to let him loose in the park and he would come running right back to me. Little rascal.
