My biggest project yet!!! A partition wall for the playroom- can you believe it?!! I did it all by myself!! It may look easy, but it took a lot of planning, problem solving, and drilling :) I even had to have lumber cut at Lowes for me!!
I started by finding this one 3x3 (9 boxes) bookshelf on craigslist that I liked, thinking I would just put it on the wall for Emma's books. But then, TAH DAH, I got the idea to get a 2nd bookshelf, attach it to the first and create a partition for the room.
Since the bookshelf had an open back, I had to find a way to make it look nice on the outside, so I took wall paneling and attached it to the back, and then- the hardest part- tried to add trim. Fancy shmancy, huh!!
I even used a miter box to angle the trim.... it's my first try, a bit rough, but I'm still glad I went with the angled sides.
And then I had to attach it to the wall somehow- but the baseboard heater caused a big gap, so I used this wood. I know, I know, not PERFECT, but it works!! And I even used the nice finished wood. We also screwed the shelf into the floor on the far end so it wouldn't shift. This baby is secure!!
Peek-a-boo!!
We blocked off the opening with some of Emma's toys.....
but Matti figured out how to get out!
Yes, Yes, I am up for hire :) hehe
