Tah-Dah!!!!!

When we moved in to the house (January 31st, 2008!) we knew we had to replace these rotten wooden shingles on the back deck. We had no idea how to do it ourselves, but after getting a quote for $1500 for someone else to do it- Felix decided to give it a try on his own.....

Beautiful!!!!! (obviously, the new shingles are not as weathered as the old, so they dont quite match yet!)

- my job is to try to fix & paint the window trim......

Then our next big project is to paint the house (drum roll please) OURSELVES!!!!!! I get very excited to do projects ourselves, Felix doesn't find it as "family-bonding time fun" as I do...

I dont know what it is, but I was SOOOOOOO proud of Felix when he decided to do this project on his own, and he went outside and worked for about 2 full days and did a great job! What a stud I have! Didn't he do such an incredible job??? Our first 'difficult' home improvement job, and Felix did it all on his own! (he wouldn't let me even hammer 1 shingle on so I couldn't say that I helped at all, hehe)- woo hoo I am so excited!!!!!
