Happy Thanksgiving

We certainly have a lot to be thankful for this year! Our wonderful family & friends, our health, Felix's amazing job, and of course, our house!!! We are truly, very thankful.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Thanksgiving at the Martin house- Kristy's moms cooking is so delicious it is definitely a treat! And it is always nice to be with good friends (and their family) for the holidays. Thanks for having us again!!!!!

Sweet Emma-Daddy time. Oh I love it!

.........I'm right here Daddy.....can you see me??????

Our First Family Thanksgiving!!!!! What a treat!
Emma was deep in thought for this picture....'how can I grab a piece of that cake without anyone noticing?'

Emma reading to Daddy before he went outside to work on the house. It was very cold outside so we had to stay indoors and play :(

Let's go to the beach! I'm ready!!!!!!

We can't wait! It is getting way too cold out here for us. Only a few weeks left until our big trip!!!!

We Survived!!!!!!

Well Daddy is home and we are sooooooo happy!!! Only one more trip left for him and then he is all ours! He did very well at Eastern's, better than he has ever done in the past, so we are proud of him.

Meanwhile, Emma & I had a great weekend together. She was an absolute angel when she came with me to teach aerobics. She was very entertained by all the action in the water and only whined to come out of the stroller during the last 10min of class. Then we went to the mall and did some mall walking and played in the childrens little play area. She was happy to watch all the little kids running around, although, when I held her sitting on the floor to play with a toy, a little boy came over and tried to push her away from the toy....and she growled/grunted at him.... Is this normal??????

Speaking of growling.... Matti had a fantastic time at his playdate as well! He is the white doggie in the picture below- being held/pet by the owner of a teeny little yorki that Matti kept "giving some love". He was quite a crazy one at the group but the other doggies seemed to play along. At one point I was looking at Emma who was on me in the carrier and I heard all this commotion- people were gathered around two dogs pointing and laughing. Of course, it was Matti and another little bichon who were both "dancing" together- up on hind legs with their front paws on each other and moving around in circles.

We had such a busy weekend that I didn't even have time to paint the house! oh well :)
Here is little Em playing.....

Then she rolled over and just rested her head on my foot and stared at me. What a cutie!!!

Look at Emma's new winter wardrobe! What a lucky girl!!!!!

Girls Weekend!!!...and Matti too

Felix is away this weekend so it's just us girls, and Matti. I have a lot of things to do so I think the time should pass pretty quickly.
Tomorrow Emma is coming with me when I teach aqua aerobics, and if she is not sleeping in her stroller on the deck, I will have her strapped to me in the bjorn (on deck) hope she has fun!
Then Saturday I have to finish painting the wood paneling in the house- Emma isn't really a fan of painting, so I think I will do that when she is sleeping.
And on Sunday- Matti has a playdate! We are going back to his doggie play house for some free runnin' fun!
I will post pictures of our hopefully fabulous weekend.......can't wait for Water Polo season to be over so we can have our Daddy back!!!!!

Here are a few pictures of what we have been up to lately:

Emma loves Matti- anytime she sees him she smiles and reaches out for him. And Matti feels the same way. We are trying to teach him to keep his little tongue in his mouth and stop licking her!!! She is always soaked when he is done with her!

Practicing sitting. We do this a lot- I think she almost has it!

Look who is a little camera shy.......

She kept trying to drink from my glass, so I decided to let her play with her empty sippy cup. She took the handles herself and brought it right up to her mouth! Woohoo- looks like when it is time for the real thing she won't have any problems.

As you may be able to tell from the above pictures- these clothes are a bit too big for her, but they are so so warm so I put them on her today. Her pants were so long so I decided to put sneakers on her! Look how pretty!!!!! (Note to self: we are DEFINITELY getting velcro shoes when she needs real shoes!) These bows are nearly impossible to tie on kicking feet!

Emma's new favorite things (these change weekly for her!): Her feet, and her book. She actually had her toes up to her lips on the changing table this evening.... I think she will be sucking on those little toesies in no time!

she is smacking her lips together trying to get her toes in her mouth!

Really getting into the book!
Have a great weekend....!!!!

Our baby girl is growing so fast!

Oh boy we are so in love. We had a great weekend- Felix was in town and only had practice with the team a few hours in the morning, so we got to spend a lot of time together. It is so nice to be able to share the sweet moments with Emma when Felix is here.

We feel so lucky to have such a beautiful baby girl, she is just perfect for us. And I am very happy that I can realize just how lucky I am to be able to spend everyday with her and not have to go to work- I thank Felix for all the hard work he does and I honestly am very glad I do not take being a stay at home mom for granted - it helps me to enjoy even the "not so sweet" moments with little Ems!!!

ahhhhhh....this is the life! (she is slumped over leaning on the side of the swing and in her sleep, was playing with her foot!)

Sitting up pretty well! She is able to sit up on her own without her hands in front of her for a teeny little bit... getting there!

She likes her "new" toy! It is an old toy from a friend and the music doesn't work- but she still likes to smack it, so I'm happy she is entertained!

Busy Mama

Little Em has kept me on my toes recently. After having a constant disgusting runny nose for about a week, she has now decided if it is after 5pm, she does not like it if I put her down to play alone with her toys. I don't know why, perhaps she is tired but does not want to sleep, but everyday without fail, when the clock hits 5pm... she is Ms.Clingy.
So- after a day full of play, at 5pm I count the hours until Daddy comes home to help entertain our little munchkin at 7:30pm. Unfortunately, sometimes only Mommy will make her happy......so we have become a bit creative lately!

Today I took Emma to the park near our house and while she was strapped on me, I sat on the swing and went swinging with her. I think she liked it! It is just getting so cold outside lately and it gets dark at 5pm, so I really have to plan our outdoor activities to be earlier in the day and be sure to dress her appropriately! Yesterday I took her to a different park but didn't really dress her warm enough and she just cried the whole time. I'm learning I tell you...... I'm learning!!!!

Being a stay at home mom has its perks- besides the obvious of being able to be with my baby all day, I have been able to try some new things that I never had time for! Today I made "friendship bread"- Felix said it tastes dry.... but I dont really know what it is supposed to taste like. It started from a bag of starter dough that a friend gave me (hence the name), and then after about 10 days of letting it sit and putting in some ingredients- I cook it and wahlah...bread! I used Splenda instead of sugar, and added chocolate chips- so maybe that has some effect on the taste?

This past weekend Emma & I went to MIT to watch Felix and his team play in a tournament. Emma and I got to go for a nice walk along the Charles River- it was nice to do that since I hadn't been there in a long time, I love that walk. It was so windy and cold though that it felt like I was walking with a parachute as I was pushing the stroller.
Here she is posing with Daddy before the game. Notice her cute little socks that look like sneakers! My little fashonista.....always hot & sweaty on that pool deck!

This little boy in the yellow robe was so mesmerized watching the water polo game- his father kept trying to pull him into the locker room to go home but he wouldn't budge. The little boy would hold up his arms as if he was shooting the ball when the team was trying to make a shot - here he is jumping in celebration after someone scored a goal. He reminded me of a little baby Felix.

Let's not forget my first child.... oh my sweet love. Still FULL of energy!

I thought I would try out the high chair (thanks for the tip Cat!). Emma seemed to like it, and it keeps her busy while we are eating dinner! She was throwing (or dropping) her toys off, so we now attach them to her seat straps- seems to work so far. Can't wait to see what she does when we give her food instead of toys! I think I will invest in some plastic floor covers!

I have given up on the hair bows for a while. We like the "wash n' wear" look!

teeny tiny toes - but she sure has her Daddy's feet!

Hard at work....with Emma

I came home from teaching aerobics to find Daddy watching Emma while working.... she seems amused.

I think she was having more fun hanging on me while we cleaned the house!
