Who Can Be As Lucky As Me?!!

This is my favorite snuggles- she is sleeping on my shoulder, so comfy with her head nuzzled in my neck. Oh I just love it!

It was such a beautiful day today so I took her to the pond/beach that is behind our house. Aren't we so lucky!!!! It is so beautiful!!

That is NOT wind blowing through her hair. That is HER HAIR! It has been sticking straight up lately- sort of looks like a cockatoo

The most beautiful day so far- can you believe we have this so close to our house!! There were two little boys playing in the water, and it reminded me of the movie Man on the Moon. I'm used to kids playing in a pool or ocean- but not a neighborhood pond!!! When Emma gets older we are going to take her out on the water in a blow up boat- (and me too since I don't like to touch the fish in the water)!!

Trouble with the footed PJ's!

This is how we found Emma in her PJ's the other night.... her feet were out between the buttons and the little footie parts.

Then- this morning when we woke up, we found her like this- BOTH feet in ONE leg! Seems like these footed pj's just aren't her style!

The cuteness never ends! I can't get enough of her sweet little cheeks.

Not a care in the world!

The smiles just keep coming- and look at those little eyes! So happy!!!

We tried a "bedtime routine" tonight for the first time... so far so good!
I gave her a bath, put her in her PJ's, fed her, read a book, sang a song, and then put her in her crib (in our room) and walked out. This is the first time I put her in awake to fall asleep on her own at night and she has stayed sleeping.
She was fine for 3 mins until she started to cry- I let her cry for 4 mins, and then went in and gave her the binky, she was fine for about 2 mins until it fell out. We did this 3 times, and she finally fell asleep.
She initially went down at 8:45pm, by 9pm she was sleeping... it is now 10:45pm and she is still sleeping.... what a good girl!!!!

Kristy & Matt Wedding

Kristy & Matt's wedding was awesome! It was absolutely beautiful, outside at a gorgeous Inn in Western Mass- and Kristy looked like a bride out of a magazine. I didn't really get any good pictures but will get some from friends to post soon.

We all had a great time dancing- me, Emma & Felix even got to dance together (pix to come). Here is a video of Felix competing in a "dance off". He and 85 year old Amanda (pictured in the video) won!

Domestic Diva

This weekend was my friends Kristy & Matt's wedding- and I baked a cake for her bachelorette party to mimic her invitation. This was the first time I had EVER baked & decorated a cake- and it turned out deeeelicious!!!!!
The party was very fun.... pictures of the wedding to come soon..

Caught Emma in mid drool on her daddy

And somehow she wiggled her feet out of her footed pj's!

Reunited after momma had a long night out.... I missed her so much!!!

Emma 2 Months Old

Special post, just for her Daddy who loves this picture, and whose opinion ALWAYS matters :). We BOTH love you!

I just can't believe how quickly the time has gone!
She is our favorite little angel and we just love her so much- I dont think either of us could have imagined just how much we could actually love her! I can never get enough of her, and it just gets better and better each day!
She has been giving us little smiles more recently, and there is definitely a difference when she looks at us now- seems like she is really looking and aware of what she sees. Ohhhh just too cute.

Must Love Dogs

I dont think Emma is a big fan of Matti yet..... hopefully they will become friends soon!

She DOES love her 'kickin' bobbin go gym' though! So many things to look at... so little time before she falls asleep again!

Fiesty little one!

What "Keep Her Calm" Means To Daddy

Felix comes home from work late, and I say to him "shhhhh... keep her calm, I'm about to put her to bed".
Instead, he plays flying airplane with her. She does like to look at her reflection in the window.

They were posing nicely for a father/daughter shot, when Emma decided to make a doodies in her diaper! If you haven't had the pleasure to experience this yourself..... she makes a LOUD doods. And luckily, I caught Felix's face on camera- this is exactly the same face everyone else makes when they are holding her and she does that on their lap (before they lift her up to see if anything got on their pants).

Flying Doodies

Emma had a rough few hours last night. She was crying for about 2 hours straight, and would only stop when I put her in the tub. I think she was gassy because after her 2 hours of crying, she had a big burp and then passed out.
After waking up at 5am to eat, she fell back asleep next to me in my bed. She must have been exhausted- here she is still sleeping at 9:30am!

And when she woke up, she was as happy as could be. Just opened her eyes and took in the views.

I put her on the changing table to change her diaper and she was still all smiles- I had to get the camera to catch her cute little face.

I took off her diaper, lifted her legs to clean her bottom, and BOOM! Apparently, she hadn't finished going to the bathroom, and her little doodies flew out at me as if it was coming from a water pistol! It landed on my shoulder..... that is quite a shot!!!! I couldn't believe it. Apparently she found it quite funny.

Two Men And A Baby

Levi came to visit from FL for a few days and stayed with us. Good thing, because he & Felix babysat Emma while I went out for a few hours on Wednesday night.

At first, Emma wasn't too sure about him.....

But then she started to like him......

How could anyone resist this little beauty queen!!!!

5.5 Hours without Mommy = 7 oz. of milk, 3 diaper changes, 2 outfits, many burp cloths, an electric swing.....and a pizza of course!
I left Emma with Felix & Levi from 5:30 until 11pm last night. I hear things went well- I didn't want to leave her but Felix thought it was a good idea for me to get a night out with the girls. He tells me she cried a lot, he fed her, changed her diaper, and then after an unusually messy spit up, he changed her outfit. I came home and she was sound asleep in her swing- looks like you did a pretty good job Daddy! And a BIG thanks to Levi for being his right hand man!!!!!

I should also mention that when I got home (it was a shopping trip... so no dinner), Felix was in the kitchen with the apron on (quite a sight!) and had my dinner of fat-free microwaved hot dogs ready and waiting for me. What a guy!

Home Improvement Projects will NEVER End

Felix & I found a kitchen table on the street about a week after Emma was born. I thought it was better than the gross one we were using (see below) that Felix had in his apartment
Here is our old ugly one:
so I convinced Felix to bring it home (even though he HATES picking up furniture off the street).
He just couldn't see the potential that I did.....

Here is what the tabletop looked like before (ignore all the food we had on there, we were prepping for the baby naming)

After Dad & I (well mostly dad!) sanded it down, here is what the top looked like

Then I painted the legs white..... only 3 coats needed, not too bad :)

Finally, I had to paint the chairs white (what you see white was initially painted blue). I painted the chairs a week after I had finished painting the legs.... and they were SUCH a pain to paint! The spindles on the bottom legs were so annoying, it was miserable. Dad told me.... no matter what the project is, it will always take longer than you think. Boy was he right!!!

The table only had 2 chairs along with it.... so we are looking for 4 more chairs to match so I can finally get rid of my Target folding chairs I have been using for 5 years!!

My next project will be to paint the ugly wall paneling white. It will be a BIG project for me to do alone, so I think I will take a break with the painting before I start that one. I'm a bit "painted out".

We also are trying to learn about how to take care of our lawn & (potential gardens) in the front and back yard.

So much to do as a homeowner!!!!!

Could THIS Be The Answer???

Emma is such a good sleeper- she will sleep for 7 hours at a time in her swing or carseat, but she just doesn't like sleeping in her crib. If I put her in the crib, she will stay asleep for 15min or 2-3 hours.... but that is about it. And then she always ends up in our bed.
SO..... I decided to get creative and try to make her crib as comfortable as her swing and carseat. She doesn't like to be swaddled up tightly in a blanket, but she likes to be supported all over, and at a slight incline.
I put her carseat snuggler in her bed (we won't use this until winter in her carseat), and supported that with the baby positioner to keep it snug against her body. Then I elevated her with a wedge pillow that Catherine let me borrow.

We tested it out last night..... I fed her and put her down at 10:15pm.... she slept until 6am!!!!!!! I heard her grunting a few times throughout the night, but that was just because she was trying to go the bathroom (it always wakes her up), so I stuck the binky in her mouth and off to sleep she went! Amazing! Let's see if she continues this lovely pattern.....
