Play Time!

Emma has been able to stay awake a bit more during the day, so we have been playing. Here she is lying on her play gym.

She doesnt like lying on her belly.... she prefers her side.

Alison came by to visit on Sunday, but Emma slept through most of her visit!

Auntie Carrie came from Albany for a quick visit on Saturday! Notice.... Emma's belly button fell off! Yeay!!!!
On Friday night, my mom watched Emma while Felix & I went out for a quick dinner to celebrate my birthday. I didn't want to leave her, but it was nice to spend some alone time with Felix.
Saturday was my actual birthday, so once we dropped my mom off at the airport Felix surprised me by taking me to my favorite restaurant.... Chick-Fil-A!!!! My birthday was great, we got to have breakfast with mom in the morning before her flight, and they even surprised me with a carvel ice cream cake for mid-morning snack! Thank you for making it such a special day, it was absolutely the best birthday ever with my new baby girl in my arms all day!!

Day Trip to Newport

We took a quick trip out to Newport today to give mom a brief preview of our favorite "vacation spot". We had lunch at the Red Parrot as usual, and then drove around and showed her the mansions before stopping for some pictures at the cliff walk. It was a bit rainy today, but very nice to go visit.

What 40 Weeks Looks Like

Today is Emma's actual due date. I looked at her all day today and was so thankful that I was already holding her in my arms.

We Have Flowers!!!

Emma's Nana has a hidden talent she has been keeping from us! We woke up this morning to find her outside pulling all the weeds out of our yard and making plans to plant beautiful flowers. Then, she & Felix went to Lowe's and picked up some flowers & mulch....... and look how beautiful everything turned out!!!!
She will definitely have to visit more often to help us take care of our new garden..... especially since I didn't even know those were weeds hanging out in our yard in the first place!

Visitors Today!

Emma had visitors coming today, so we started off with a quick wash in the tubby!

My friends Jen & Ryan came by from Boston in their zip-car to visit
Then Felix's former water polo player Alex came by (and brought my favorite cookies from Meeting Street Cafe!!! they are about the size of a pizza each!) Emma was very cozy in his arms!
Emma was exhausted and slept the rest of the day in her favorite resting spot!

What A Moment

I was going through our pictures- and realized that you can see her grabbing for my finger as soon as she was born. They put her on my belly as soon as she came out and here we are holding hands. You can see the green & white stripes in the lower left corner- that is the blanket around her head and body- the little dark spot is her hair, and my fingers are resting on her chest.
